With a background supporting survivors of sexual abuse and domestic violence, I bring a compassionate, trauma-informed approach to counselling. Alongside my private practice, I work for Victim Support, assisting individuals dealing with various types of trauma and hardship.

My professional credentials include a Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling, with a specialism in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), complemented by additional training such as Islamically integrated psychology and coaching. My work is grounded in professional standards and culturally sensitive practice, reflecting a strong commitment to providing therapy that is both effective and inclusive.

Coming from a culturally rich but often complex background, I understand first-hand how faith, family expectations, and identity can shape our inner world. My path into counselling was shaped not only by professional training and client work, but also by personal experiences that led me to re-evaluate life, identity, and well-being on a deeper level. These experiences have given me insight into the complexities of emotional struggle, family and cultural pressures, and the resilience it takes to heal and move forward.

Who I Support

At Amaanah Wellbeing, I understand that you may be feeling overwhelmed, anxious, stuck or emotionally exhausted. Perhaps you're carrying unspoken burdens, struggling with low mood or self-worth, or navigating challenges around identity, relationships or faith. I offer a safe and compassionate space to explore these feelings at your own pace.

My integrative approach combines evidence-based therapies like Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) with traditional counselling methods and psychological understanding. This means your values and worldview can be honoured in the process of healing and self-discovery, should you choose to include them. We provide a warm, respectful and non-judgemental environment where all aspects of you are welcome.

I offer face-to-face counselling sessions in Wolverhampton and Telford, plus online therapy from the comfort of your own private space anywhere in the UK.

Integrative and culturally sensitive approach

The integrative and culturally sensitive approach at Amaanah Wellbeing is designed to meet you where you are. By combining evidence-based therapies like CBT with traditional counselling methods, we create a personalised and meaningful therapeutic experience. For those who wish, faith and cultural values can be gently woven into the process, ensuring that all parts of your identity are welcome and respected.

This approach is particularly beneficial for clients who may feel overlooked in standard therapy settings, offering both structure and flexibility to support healing that honours not just the mind, but also the heart, soul and lived experience. We offer a space where you can explore your thoughts, emotions, and behaviours in a way that resonates with your unique background and beliefs.

Why Amaanah?

The name Amaanah is rooted in the Arabic word that conveys trust, honesty, loyalty, responsibility and integrity. It is a word with profound depth, and that is exactly why I chose it. In counselling, the foundation lies in safety, trust and integrity. These are values that align closely with the essence of amaanah and the way I aim to hold space for others. For me, Amaanah is more than a name. It is a guiding principle and a daily reminder of the values I strive to uphold in both my professional and personal life.
